Introduction:

For the purpose of this project, all definitions have been written by Ramala Hubb’Allah. Her signature method is to focus on the etymology of a word on one hand, and then to understand what is meant by the said word in essence–what do humans want to communicate by the given word. Sometimes word have a de facto meaning, or a reality that they refer to.

The word WHEEL when it refers to the round object on a car is a specific reality, and the CAR itself is a specific reality.

Some words change the definition and the actuality that they refer to. What is BEAUTIFUL, for instance, is an abstraction and fluid concept in its manifested (concrete) reality, though what we mean by the word is more or less the same. That said, there are meanings that focus on innate quality of an object, and meanings that objectify the object. Ramala would err for the inside-out meaning. In this case, Beauty is something defined by a quality that an object radiates, and not what the observer defines. The observer does not get to define, Beauty in Ramala’s world is inherent and the observer reads and accesses it based on the observer’s capacity, clarity, and caliber.

Then, there are words that can be understood better with deeper comprehension, and the availability of more knowledge and perspective over time or observation. Ramala redefined the Muslim word “Salaam” from peace to wholeness, integration, completion of parts. In doing so, she was inspired by the clues that culture has left, and from the suggested used of the word Salaam as a Sacred Name of Allah: In the Pakistani culture, the derivative word Salamati means wholeness, welfare, staying put together, and the suggested healing use of the Name Salaam as an invocation is to bring health, correction, wholeness. Ramala combined the insight from these use cases with her awareness that spiritually-speaking, the project of living a life on the Planet is a journey of the completion of Self, and that in the world of modern psychology and Self work and neurology, Self is seen to contain parts that must work together in order for the personality to be functional. This is the root of wellness, and the process of maturation of a human. This entire knowledge-base has altered, for Ramala Hubb’Allah, the definition of the word Salaam.

Finally, Ramala also studied the shape of the reality that the word refers to, the felt sensation of the words, and how the word lives out in play. Seeing the word as a living character moving about doing a certain work helps her understand what that work is. She also defines the said work in the process, and even studies its intent, design, and pathologies. This makes the word a living, functional entity and gives it a life, through which it gets things done in the world.

In the world of Ramala Hubb’Allah, words are living things, energies, characters, processes and functions. The Glossaries that Ramala prepares for her various projects are living entities and theaters! Enjoy your stroll through the garden of the Vocabulary of the Eco-Feminine.
